Following Boxy Studios’ launch in late 2018, we were excited to visit our first design show of 2019, coincidentally it was their first show too, The Farnborough Homebuilding & Renovating Show which was open to both the public and industry professionals allowing everyone to get hands-on with the latest products and new technologies available. The show also provided free seminars allowing the public to gain significant knowledge on various homebuilding topics, such as; how to find your way through planning; energy efficiency and self-build.
Whilst making our way through the various stands, we stumbled across the hidden gem of the show, QTD. A leading supplier of specialist hardwoods and thermowoods within the UK and Europe. We were particularly impressed by the quality of cladding materials, specifically the thermowood charred cladding as we have had experience with this product whilst working on projects in Los Angeles.
Now Boxy has launched, we are keen to find a good source of quality products for our new projects within the UK and we are excited to find a product that not only works externally but can also be used to create wonderful feature pieces throughout the interior design scheme too.
Why choose ‘Thermally Treated’ Timber?
Thermally treated timber is environmentally friendly and QTD strive to the highest of expectations when sourcing and delivering their timber to the client, with FSC and PEFC certifications enabling a full unbroken chain of custody certification. QTD’s products are 100% natural and free of chemicals. By thermally treating timber, this also increases the durability of the product, especially important in the UK with our changing weather conditions increasing the resilience against fungus and insect attack.
